We’ve finally experienced a few day thaw here in Minneapolis, so I was excited to pull out a vest to layer over a sweater for a day of running errands this past weekend. It actually got up to 42 degrees yesterday, and I wasn’t quite sure what to do with myself. In my perfect world, winters wouldn’t get any colder than 20 degrees so that I could live in this look or something similar. This sweater has been on repeat this season. The color is so versatile, and I just love the distressing detail. It keeps going out of stock at Nordstrom, so clearly I’m not the only one that loves it. If you’ve had your eye on it, scoop it up while it’s in stock!
The thing I’m most excited about from this outfit, however, is the jeans. Y’ALL. I discovered Mother denim this past year and I am FULLY converted. I think I have like 4 or 5 pairs now. I have owned pretty much every brand of designer denim, and I’ve never found a brand to flatter my body so well. Every pair I own has the perfect amount of stretch, and the quality of the denim is unmatched. In the past, I’ve owned jeans that get worn down (and some that have even full on torn) in the inner thighs after lots of wear (just keeping it honest here…athletic legs problems), but after wearing my Mother jeans pretty much every day, they’ve shown no signs of wear and tear. My favorite part of all is that they are super durable jeans that hold everything in, yet they’re still flexible. Does that make sense? No matter how many times I wear them between washes, I still feel like they hold their shape and hug my curves (and make my booty look poppin’).
To address the elephant in the room: I KNOW the price tag is steep. Trust me. The first time I bought a pair I was like okay, are we doing this? We’re really doing this. But I am being 100% transparent when I say they are worth every single penny! I plan to wear mine for many years to come.
Here are a few pairs that I’ve had my eyes on:
These – I love a good dark wash.
Lace hem?! I die for these.
These are the perfect classic black jean.
I love the distressing and looser fit look of these.
P.S. Again, just to be fully transparent, this is not to say I don’t own and wear other brands of jeans, because I do, and you’ll see me wearing other brands of jeans on the blog. Mother is just my favorite and I wanted to spread the good news!
