I know this sounds so cliche, but 2017 was the fastest year ever. Maybe it’s because I got married in November, and that made the year fly by and the wedding come so quickly. 2017 was a pretty great year for me – I got married, one of my best friends got married, I gained another nephew, and I started a new job, just to name a few happenings.
I have a feeling 2018 will be another great year. We have our honeymoon, a couple trips planned, a TON of weddings, and are hoping to buy a house in the spring. I thought I’d make this a kind of accountability post by sharing some of my goals and resolutions for the coming year. Keep scrolling to read more about this (and see some more photos from our time on Cape Cod!)
- The resolution that I have been telling everyone I have for 2018 is to not to be so quick to judge. In this era of instant gratification we live in, I find myself getting bent out of shape for even the mildest inconvenience. When I find myself in a situation where I might snap to judgement, I’m going to strive to take a step back, consider the other side, and think before I act or react.
- Due in large part to getting married in 2017, I made my fitness and health a huge focus of my year this year. However, since my wedding on November 4th, I’ve found that I’ve fallen off the wagon a bit. When it comes to my fitness and nutrition, in the past, I’ve either been 100% devoted or a total slacker. In 2018, I’d like to find a balance where I continue to focus on my fitness and health but not to such a drastic degree that I eventually fall off the wagon and lose everything I’ve worked for.
- I’m also hoping to take my blog to a new level in 2018. I want to continue to learn and grow and improve. I hope to continue to share new and interesting content with my readers, improve my photography, and polish my social media skills. My wonderful and loving husband actually got me a photography class for Christmas, and I am very excited to start learning some new photography skills from that!
- Lastly, as I mentioned above, Max and I are hoping to buy a house in 2018. We actually went to our first showing yesterday, and it made me realize we don’t really have any idea what we’re doing. But I’m confident we’ll find the perfect place to call our first official home, and I can’t wait to start brainstorming home decor ideas.
I hope you all have a wonderful and safe new year!
