Hump Day Hearsay #10: Is the Super Bowl Over Yet?

tumblr_lbim5rVjrN1qcg4f2o1_500_large Image

Okay, maybe I was being a little dramatic by wishing it was over already, but, as seems to be American tradition these days, the Super Bowl is already grotesquely over-commercialized…and it is Wednesday. 4 days before the actual game itself. Also, As a girl who enjoys to watch a few hours of ESPN a day (I know *gasp,* get a hold of yourselves), I have had to resort to watching Kourtney & Kim Demoralize Miami this week instead, in an effort to avoid alleged “24 hour live Super Bowl coverage” on ESPN. I swear, if I have to hear Randy Moss assert that he is the greatest wide receiver ever to be in the league one more time….
On a ligther note, how cute is that picture I found for today’s edition of HDH?! If only I could sit in my gorgeous, antique Victorian mansion in my luxurious couture ball gown sipping the highest-end brand of tea, with perfect rays of sunlight shining down on me. Oh, and did I mention I balance my uber-cute, classic chic (imaginably Prada or Hermes) teapot on top my head with ease? Maybe tomorrow, my ball gown is at the dry cleaner right now.
And lastly…only in the Northern Midwest do you see kids walking around in shorts one day, then wake up the next morning to a winter weather advisory warning smacking you across the face. A good old-fashioned blizzard…but hey, that’s just another day at the office (literally and figuratively) here in the Midwest. Plus, I finally get to bust out my super cute Sorel boots :)
Hope you guys enjoy today’s reads…I feel like I am getting better at curating a good blend for everyone. But, feel free to leave feedback if you have any additional must-reads! Stay warm today, y’all!

The Best Budget-Friendly Online Jewelry Websites

This may come as a shock to some of you but, much to my chagrin, I am not yet rich and famous. Because of this deficiency, I am constantly faced with the harsh imbalance of a limited budget and a mean shopping addiction. As I have developed into a more seasoned and cultured expert shopper, two qualities I have really come to appreciate are quality and affordability.
I will be the first to tell you that there are a superfluous amount of products and merchandise out there that possess one of these qualities, but not the other. Especially in this day and age, with the state of the economy (and the fact that I am *cringe* not yet rich and famous), I believe it is very important for brands to strike a balance between quality and affordability. Not only does this recognize the importance of frugality for today’s consumer, but it is beneficial for the brands because their products are obtainable by a much larger consumer market. The larger the consumer market = the more growth and exposure for the brand.
Bearing these thoughts in mind, jewelry has evolved into a much more prominent and relevant industry. The emphasis on “accessorization” (yes, I went there) in many recent trends has quality, on-trend jewelry in high demand.
This is where I step in and save the day. In an effort to recognize the ability of these jewelry brands to strike the quality-affordability balance, I have put together a list of what I believe are the absolute best online jewelry websites. Featuring all kinds of different jewelry designs and styles, I guarantee you will find anything and everything you never knew you wanted needed without breaking the bank.
I personally am all about big, huge attention-grabbing necklaces at the moment. But, ask me in 5 minutes and I could be swooning over something else.

Hi my loves, happy Friday! I had a different post planned for today, but A) it’s not quite finished, and B) I wanted to take today to recognize YOU GUYS, my lovely readers.
As some of you know, I posted on my personal Facebook profile earlier this week that it was a goal of mine to reach 100 “likes” on my blog’s Facebook page. At this time, I believe I had 63 likes. When I posted this sentiment on Facebook, I didn’t really expect to get much response. I figured it would maybe get me a couple more likes on my page, and I would have to just keep posting this status over and over again and maybe, just maybe, I would reach 100 likes a month from now.
However, I was completely and utterly shocked at the wonderfully amazing response I received. Earlier today, a little over 48 hours after I posted status about my goal, I received my 100th like. And the number continues to rise.
I just want to say how truly genuinely flattered I am to receive such a strong and supportive response from my readers in order for ME to reach MY goal. I mean, it was up to you guys whether or not I would ever reach this goal, and to reach it in such a short period of time is literally beyond my comprehension. I am now more motivated than ever to keep working hard on my blog in hopes of attracting more and more lovely followers!
To wrap up this blubber fest, I want to express my gratitude by rewarding you guys with my FIRST GIVEAWAY! (or, even a series of giveaways!) That is all I will say for now, but stay tuned for more giveaway details coming soon!
Have a great weekend everyone!

On a frigid cold day like today, how heavenly does that bathtub look?! Not only would it be the perfect way to warm up, but but the bubbles are pink! I think I have found my new happy place. If only…
As New York Fashion Week is fast approaching (I swear, Fall Fashion Week feels like it just happened like a month ago), a decent portion of today’s reads are fashion related. However, as always, I like to think there is a little something for everyone.
I made sure to provide plenty of reading material for you all today, so, find a cozy spot to cuddle up, wrap yourself up in your warmest blanket, grab a cup of coffee, and enjoy today’s reading material.

Make a Statement

Untitled-1 Images: 1/2/3/4

I am having a HUGE moment right now with jewelry…I have been collecting it like crazy lately, and even took some time this weekend to get it all organized (in an effort to avoid my necklaces get tangled together, I came up with the genius idea to hang them all on the towel bar in my bathroom).
Anyways, as of late, the bigger the statement you make with your jewelry, the better. Statement jewelry is such an effortless way to make a simple jeans and tee outfit a chic ensemble. See some of the pieces I am lusting after below…

Lady in Red

Nothing says fabulous and fashionable like sporting a bright, crisp shade of red. Whether it be coral, bordeaux, scarlet, or crimson, wearing red screams confidence and instantly ups the cool factor in your ensemble.
The best part about wearing red is that, similar to black and white, this color is timeless. So, if you are looking for a safe way to add some color to your neutral wardrobe, red is your safest bet to not only color-ify your wardrobe, but give you some added confidence. Get started below!

Spring-2013-trend All images via ELLE

The runways have spoken! One of the hottest trends to hit the runways for this spring is stripes, shown from the likes of Paul & Joe, Tommy Hilfiger, Moschino, Christian Dior, and Marc Jacobs, just to list a few.
I have always been a big fan of stripes, so this trend is one that excites me greatly, and believe me when I say I will be sporting this trend in any way I can this spring.
To be even more on-trend with the stripes trend, be sure to look for the brightest colors you can find because color is always a hot commodity for spring clothing. See below for some ways to get you started on this hot spring trend!

The Best of the Golden Globes

Last night’s Golden Globes was full of fabulous fashion. See my favorite looks below!

amyadams Image
Amy Adam’s gorgeous Marchesa dress is so dainty and feminine, she looks like a ballerina with the feminine tulle flared out skirt at the bottom.

Image
Anne Hathaway’s new pixie cut was a perfect compliment to her gorgeous white sequined dress.

hayden Image
Hayden Panettiere, in Roberto Cavalli, pulls of a very ladylike look with this lace dress, and lace is not always easy to pull off. Furthermore, as you can see here, her minimal, basic makeup were spot-on.

julianne Image
Julianne Hough makes quite a statement in this fab Monique Lhuillier dress, and intensifies the elegance of this look with a dainty undo.

jessica Image
Jessica Alba’s Oscar de la Renta dress has been stirring up lots of buzz, and for good reason – she looks absolutely dashing in this eye-catching coral dress, and makes the look even more glam with statement-making jewels.

Who do you think was the best dressed at the Golden Globes?
